She Was in a Pickle, and a Pickle Lead Her to Salvation

We could all use a laugh, so pulled straight from the AGL file, here is your 'that's the news that was' news tidbit of the day. This little gem came over the AP wire some years ago. Judging from some of the past comments I've received, I reiterate -- everything I print is true -- accurate, well, it was in a newspaper somewhere...so you decide...

A woman who claims she was permanently scarred after a hot pickle from a McDonald's hamburger fell on her chin is suing the restaurant. Dashaloo Desmond* claims in a lawsuit that the burn also caused her physical and mental pain and is seeking damages. Her husband, Dingobat Ditty, is ALSO (caps mine) seeking damages because, as he puts it, he "has been deprived of the services and consortium of his wife."**

The hamburger "was in a defective condition or unreasonably dangerous to the general consumer and in particular to Ms. Desmond," according to the two-page lawsuit. According to the lawsuit, she is permanently scarred, with second degree burns.

There are almost no words.
*Did you think these were their real names?
**eeuuwwww...
You parents had better drag your kids out of Macs right now before more bodily harm is inflicted.

Two blips in the News

Did ya'll see hear these two stories?
1) A 27-year-old woman was on a first date with a guy. After the meal he excused himself, saying he had left his wallet in her car. He skipped out on the check and drove off in her car.

I am so envious of this woman. What a brilliant story she has to dine out on for the rest of her life. And any dates she has in the future will always be great in comparison.

2) The 80-year-old man who, in the same week, had been tied up and pistol-whipped, and then accidently shot days later while trying to learn about guns for self-defense.

And you thought you were having a bad week?! Seriously. Excy won't let me have a gun. He says if I got one it'd better be chocolate, because someone would just take it away from me and make me eat it.

Leno

Okay, found one. Here's my Lenny, or as he prefers to be addressed, Master Lenny-poo, Esquire...
This is in addition to the post 'family feud' below. For some reason blogspot decided that today was Sat., and it wouldn't post before the ones I sent out yesterday!

Hey, Foxy!

Last summer a small red fox limped onto the terrace on three legs to take advantage of the dog food buffet and leftovers we leave for the nightly round of 'customers.' This terrified the coons, particularly the babies, one of whom scrambled up the screen door leaving a big tear. The fox ignored them all. I assumed it wouldn't last long in the wild with that injury. He was so shy. After five months I didn't see him again and assumed the worst. Two weeks ago, he came up again and this time he and the coons ate in mutual peace. He still has that gimpy leg but it doesn't seem to bother him any, it just slows him down. (I completely relate to that, maybe that's why he picked our house). I love it when the 'wild ones' all get along. It's like a Disney program or something. Although, even on Disney, there was discourse and Darwinism........

Obnoxious People & Things I've Done in Retaliation, Pt. 2

I was just about to turn into a handicapped parking space, waiting for a person to drive off, my blinker on, being atypically patient, when before I could this car from the opposite side swoops in the space. And they didn't even have a handicapped sticker!* Sometimes when this happens, I just sit there and a hard stare can make them back sheepishly out, but this dude blithely jumped out and sauntered into the store. I get inside and start shopping and a few aisles down, there's Mr. Obnoxious, talking loudly and importantly on his cell phone, one of those Cyborg head set thingies where people make eye contact with you and you mistakenly think they're talking to you when you realize with a start they're not (why do these people always look at people when talking?). He keeps parking his shopping cart carefully in the middle of the aisle and then wandering off. I move it twice. The third time this happens I ram it gently with my cart to push if off to the side, and it jostles a few cans. He comes back and gives a little snort, like I'm the rude one. So, I think, here, I can do better than that. The next time he isn't looking, I toss a large tube of Preparation H and a box of Tampax in his cart. I was hoping for a price check. Or at least that the items made it home.**

*I know you've never seen anyone ticketed for parking in a handicapped space, or for that matter, littering. One time I called in a license number for a man who just tried to run me off the road. He had been driving 30 mph in a 50 zone, but when I attempted to pass him he sped up and tried to force me onto the left shoulder. His wife or somebody was yelling at the jack-leg all the while. I hoped she left him shortly thereafter. The police person I called said they had to actually see it happen. But the police are johnny-on-the-spot at speed traps.
**I heard of this from a John Waters interview. He calls it 'shopping for other people.' Sounded downright altruistic.
