Hey, Foxy!

Last summer a small red fox limped onto the terrace on three legs to take advantage of the dog food buffet and leftovers we leave for the nightly round of 'customers.' This terrified the coons, particularly the babies, one of whom scrambled up the screen door leaving a big tear. The fox ignored them all. I assumed it wouldn't last long in the wild with that injury. He was so shy. After five months I didn't see him again and assumed the worst. Two weeks ago, he came up again and this time he and the coons ate in mutual peace. He still has that gimpy leg but it doesn't seem to bother him any, it just slows him down. (I completely relate to that, maybe that's why he picked our house). I love it when the 'wild ones' all get along. It's like a Disney program or something. Although, even on Disney, there was discourse and Darwinism........

And usually in the Disney shows one or both parents met a bad death.

Sort of like the Fox and the Hound. The fox and the coon. That could get dirty if I played around with it, but because we are just getting to know each other, I will spare you that for now!
